Trish and Tim Wedding |
Trisha and Tim were married just a few days after Valentine's Day. Trisha spent time getting fabulous at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, then the wedding party headed to Moli`i Gardens, a part of Kualoa Ranch. |
Details from Trisha's dress. I loved the little bit of color added in~ |
It is good to be the bride!! |
I love the dresses that lace up the back like this. Not only do they look cool, it is quite flattering as well~ |
The ladies fawning over Trisha in all her fabulousness~ |
Beautiful views during the ceremony~ |
After the ceremony, we had some time for portaits. We were able to spend time at the gardens, then stopped off at a few places on the drive back to the Hilton, including a cool looking store, the beach and some beautiful cliffs. It was great having some extra time for portraits with my bride and groom and with the wedding party. Enjoy! |

This one was fun, and I'm glad the ladies were up for it! |
My favorite series from the day, Trisha looking AMAZING!!! |
Tim thought she looked so great, he needed to take a shot as well : ) |
... and then I made him get in on the action, at least in the role of head prop : ) |

A fun grab shot from the day. The bridal party was messing around in the trees, and I thought they made a pretty fun background to this image! |
Thanks Trisha for talking me into staying an extra week. We had a great time with all the fun and creative portraits! Thanks for dinner too, the Hilton knows how to cook up a pretty tasty meal~ |

March 31st, 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Junko and Chad's wedding |
Junko and Chad were married at the Honolulu Design Center and had an amazing meal planned at Stage Restaurant. The planning was done by the amazing Katy Castillo. As many of you may know, I am currently traveling across the United States on a road trip with my dogs. Junko and Chad received their photographs quite a bit ago, but it is certainly a challenge finding internet on the road! Get ready for quite a few updated here in the next couple of days as I take advantage of the free wi-fi in my first hotel room in quite a while. For more information on my travels and what I am currently up to, please check out my travel blog Road Trip Photographer. |
I love the English writing amidst all the Japanese~ |
Everyone gets a first look at Junko all dolled up. |
These ladies were a ton of fun to photograph! |
We only had a bit of time for portraits with just Junko and Chad, but made the best of the beautiful Halekulani Hotel. |
The original plan was to have the ceremony on the rooftop, but the weather wasn't cooperating ; ( Katy was super resourceful and put together an amazing candlelit ceremony at the Cupola Theatre. |
Although the entire day was great, the best best best part was the food. ok, that is maybe just my tastebuds talking, but my memory of how yummy the food was is still pretty strong. Chad is a chef himself, so they really wanted to food to be an important and unforgetable part of the day. |
more amazing details~ |
...and then there was the candy and dessert bars. ah, yummy : ) |
Not only was it their wedding day, it was Chad's birthday~ |

February 21st, 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Exciting news at Alecia Hoyt Photography |
Big things are happening at the studio this year~ Most importantly for now, I will be traveling on the mainland March - June 2009. I have a fabulous little vintage trailer and the doggies and I are hitting the road. We plan on taking lots of photographs and blogging all about the trip. You can keep up with our adventures on my new blog Road Trip Photographer Blog I am currently accepting bookings in Hawaii for July and August 2009. I have a few Saturdays already full, but still have some dates open, so please inquire about your date. Since we are traveling, please be patient as you wait for me to get in touch with you. I will be out in the middle of nowhere half the time, so probably won't always have an internet connection. February 3rd, 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Derrick and Kim's Wedding |
Derrick and Kim were married at the Hilton Hawaiian Village this winter (if there really is such a thing as 'winter' here in Hawaii : ) We were up and photographing by 5am if I remember correctly! A little coffe and a happy couple and we were good to go : ) |
There were so many beautiful details that Kim planned out for this day. I love the beading on her dress and shoes~ |
I love this image of the flower girl, trying to squeeze in and see what was happening with the bride ; p |
Lots of smile and laughter! |
Nice combo, huh? |
We got together for some portraits before the ceremony to take advantage of the early morning light. |
I loved Kim's tulips, white for her and pink for the girls : ) |
Silliness! |
How cute are they? It took a little coaxing, but in the end it was worth it~ |
And then it was ceremony time! Derrick and Kim decided to have the wedding ceremony inside just in case the weather got loopy. They were able to incorporate beautiful flowers, candles and crystals into the ambiance. |
happy smiles during the ceremony~ |

Hello Kitty was the overriding theme of the day. Between you and me, Kim is a little obsessed with Hello Kitty....and I LOVE it! The first time we met, she had a hello kitty notepad and pencil, and the theme just continued into the wedding. Super fun! |
After a quick break it was time for family and friends to eat, drink and be merry~ |
hmmnnn...that is a BIG piece of cake. These guys really made my day fun with all their silliness : ) |
1001 cranes with a Hello Kitty theme. Bet you never saw that before : ) Thank you guys for having us, Jeanne Ali and I all had a great time. Hope you love the photographs as much as I do! |

December 31st, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Chelsea and Abe Wedding |
Chelsea and Abe were married at Lanikohonua on the west side of Oahu. It is a beautiful outdoor location right next door to the Ko'olina Beach Resort. We met the couple and their families at the hotel for some getting ready photographs and some group portraits. |
Chelsea getting help from her ladies : ) |
There were so many amazing details at this wedding! Here is the first of a few of my faves~ |
Love their wedding rings! |
one of my faves from the day. Chelsea and Abe's sons and daughter were the ring bearers and flower girl. I think I mentioned it when I posted their engagement photographs, but I will say again that these are the best kids ever! Not only were they in great moods all day and helping their parents, but they also loved to be in photographs : ) talk about making my job easy! Of course, they were bribed with a trip to Disney Land ; p |
See what I said about the supermodel action? I asked for serious faces, and these guys totally pulled it off! |
3 of my favorites from the portrait session with the guys. |
seriously, how cute are these guys?!?! |
and a few favorites from my pre-wedding bridal session with Chelsea~ |
another one of my favorite photographs from the day! |
Lanikohonua is such a beautfiful venue, and we had perfect weather. A couple of photographs of the ceremony grounds for you to enjoy~ |
and yes, these cupcakes tasted as good as they looked! |
Cutest flower girl ever! |
A wide angle view of the ceremony, full of palm trees and blue skies. |
We took just a few minutes at sunset for some portraits of just the bride and groom. There was a little section of beach that we snuck off to to capture some romantic moments. |
Lovely moment from the first dance~ |
and hilarious moment from the money dance ; p |
Gotta love the serenade from the father of the bride : ) |
The bride and groom posing with the band, Hawaii's own Natural Vibrations. They were awesome!! Check out the link to their myspace page to get a sample. I just clicked on the link and can't stop listening while I finish blogging : ) |
rocking out! Thanks guys, the day was lovely, the cupcakes were amazing, and the band was fabulous! thanks for having us along to your wedding and entrusting us with your memories! |
